Sussex has long been a magnet for artists of all kinds, and the arts play a major role in life here, with dozens of small galleries and artist’s studios all over the county. Top notch galleries include Pallant House, which showcases the best collection of 20th century art outside the capital, while Eastbourne’s Towner Art Gallery re-opens in Spring 2008 in a purpose-built £8.5m modern building and the magnificent De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhil, East Sussex.
