Type: Towns & Villages

Hastings and St Leonards is known throughout the world for its role in the epic story of 1066 and the Norman Invasion. Yet the town harbours many unique stories of its own making this enchanted place one of the best kept secrets of the South Coast. Cyclists have always found it to be a veritable haven for their pastime. A seafront cycle lane has now been opened and provides a wonderful, leisurely way of enjoying the sights and sounds of the town.

Hastings pier is fast re-establishing itself as a centrepiece of the town. Beautifully restored, the Pier is home to all kinds of arts and craft shops together with bars, bistros and cafes where you can sample the diverse range of fish that are caught in local waters. There is even a Bingo Hall where you can enjoy a meal, a drink and a game or two.

Alternatively you can visit, The Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, housing a spectacular dinosaur exhibition, or Underwater World, where sharks, starfish and 70 other marine species can be seen in action. Clambers Play Centre, the play centre on the pier and the Stade Fun Park are just three ways to occupy the children with their fantastic collection of activities and rides.
